Developing the Lot (added 11/2009) The last several months have been spent gathering bids, estimating costs, and discussing design options for our community’s recreational facility. Bryan Hull, an experienced recreational design architect, was hired to develop some possible designs for our homeowners to consider. Bryan stressed the importance of safety, aesthetic appeal, consideration for nearby neighbors, and items which would serve the social and recreational needs of all homeowners when drafting theses designs. Along with Bryan’s designs, we made some additional modifications in order to allow more options for our homeowners at a more varied price range.Please vote your choice by Feb 14, 2010.
Community input session for PISD feeder school alignment (added 11/2009)The Plano ISD Board of Trustees met in a work session on November 17 to discuss the school feeder alignment process. Having met within their board sub-committees during the previous weeks, trustees are pursuing study of a plan referred to as Option 3 at the work session and are seeking additional community input before their formal vote scheduled for December 15. Option 3 proposes to convert Williams High School into an academy for grades 9-12 opening in 2012. The public input session is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, at Sockwell Center, 6301 Chapel Hill Blvd. in Plano. The December 15 school board meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. at Sockwell. Plans for the retail development at Brand and FM544 (added 11/2009) City of Murphy Planning and Zoning Commission had a hearing on Nov 16 at 6 pm in the City Council Chambers. The purpose was to receive comments on the specific use permit requested for an assisted living facility for Brand and 544. The meeting ran out of time and that topic was not formally discussed. Proposed plan is available for public review on City of Murphy web site. Look at the page 17 of this document. The Board and Murphy City would like to hear your comment on the proposed plan. Update on signal lights at Brand and FM 544 (added 11/2009) The date for installing the signal lights at Brand and FM 544 was just moved up! Now, Murphy city officials expect to have the lights installed sometime in January of 2010. Murphy Economic Development Corporation (added 10/2009) Murphy Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is conducting an online "Retail Preference Poll". Update on signal lights at Brand and FM 544 (added 09/2009) We just got a word from City of Murphy that all the approvals are in place for a signal lights at Brand and FM 544. The synchronization of the railroad crossing and signal lights is being worked out and they anticipate the signal lights to be installed May 2010. Public Service Announcement (added 08/2009) Murphy Tx – On 08-15-2009, at approximately 1:16 a.m., several male suspects (White, Black and Asian) ranging from 18 to 20 years, exited their vehicle at Taco Bell parking lot and assaulted three male subjects. One of the victims sustained severe fractures to the facial area and also suffered a broken ankle. The suspects’ vehicle was possibly a late 90’s White Ford Mustang with a light Brown convertible top, two hood scoops, and a spoiler. The vehicle fled the scene westbound FM 544 towards Plano, Texas. If anyone has any information that would be helpful to police in apprehending the suspects in this case or if they have any information that will assist in this investigation, please contact Det. Gann at 972-468-4205. Summer Splash Party 2009 #2 (added 08/2009) We are going to have another summer party on Saturday, Aug 15, 2009 from 6 pm through 8 pm. We will have jump house and water slide for kids play. We will have Shaved Ice, Pizzas and drinks for refreshment. Yards of the Month, June 2009 (added 07/2009) Our new Board of Directors has decided to reinstate our old program of awarding one homeowner in Phase I and one homeowner in Phase II a monthly award for the best landscaped yard. Each winner will receive $50 in gift certificates from Calloway’s Nursery. We have joined Calloway’s Yard of the Month Program. Each month, Calloway’s Nursery will donate two $25 gift certificates, one for each winner. Our Association will match Calloway’s by awarding an additional $25 gift certificate for each winner. Street lights (added 06/2009) As you may have noticed, street lights on Brand Road are now installed and fully functional. Street lights on Murphy Road are also working. Special HOA meeting update (added 05/2009) On Saturday, May 9, 2009, at the Special meeting called by 230 of our homeowners, four new Directors were elected to our Association's Board.
